The wise words of older, seasoned parents, wishing to impart truth to you.
"Cherish every minute, they grow up fast."
Your mind replies without thought, "Yeah, yeah - I know."
You've already heard it 36 times from every other parent you know.

Claire and I are now beginning to understand why they say this to us so frequently.
Saturday, we celebrated Sophia's first birthday. Our little girl is getting big fast.
I can hear my thoughts, "How did a whole year go by already?
I didn't kiss her enough this year.
I didn't hold her enough this year. A year already?"
I couldn't have held her enough if I had never put her down.
Her personality is a treasure to us. Deep within' this little woman,
God has placed the ability to love us, the ability to laugh with us,
and the ability to sneeze chewed up peaches at high speeds over record distances.
Every time she says "mama" and "dada," we find ourselves captured by the amazing love that God has shown us. His magnificent wisdom in creating the family is a blessing that overwhelms us with joy and gratitude. We live radically sold-out lives of praise to King Jesus - not out of duty or drudgery, but simply as a reflection of our thankfulness to Him for all He has done.
1 year has gone by too fast. I'm thankful we have at least 17 or 18 more with
this sweet little princess named Sophia.
To all of you who were able to come, thank you so much for
celebrating this great time with our family.
To all of you who were not able to make it,
I hope these photos and this video will give you a glimpse into Sophia's special day.

Okay, I have to confess, I am bawling like a big fat baby right now. That was the sweetest thing I have ever seen! I too cannot believe that it has been a year already! It seems like just yesterday that Dallas and I were visiting you guys in the hospital just after she was born! What a precious gift! God has answered all of our prayers!!! She is healthy and beautiful and growing more each and every day!!! And here we are awaiting Alaythia!
I have never heard that song before- it just reminds me to REDEEM THE TIME! It truly is so short and what a high calling we have to be moms! I was just thinking of how we were just sooo busy today and I think- did I really stop to talk to Naomi and just really enjoy her? Does she know more about Jesus today because of my interaction with her....ouch!
Claire, I am just so proud of you as a mom! Its amazing to me the sanctifying process that we go through from the moment we have children!!! :) I have just been so encouraged watching you learn and draw near to the Lord from having Sophia! I have watched you interact with her and it just blesses my heart to see you striving to be the most godly mom you can be for her. You always make sure that you are doing the very best that you can for her! You are just a great mom and I'm just thankful to have you to encourage me all of the time! I love you!
Happy Birthday Sophia! :) I'm real sad that we missed the biggest best party of the year! Keep your eye on the mailbox! You have a little surprise coming from Naomi soon! We love you!
BTW, I forgot to mention that the cake is beautiful! You did a great job clarie! I love the pink icing!
